This format would be easier for languages to support and could potentially exist in standard upstream compilers, runtimes, toolchains, and popular packages without the need for third-party distributions. In effect, we could go from a world where every language re-implements the web platform integration using JavaScript, to sharing a common one that is built directly into the browser.
